Kane & Lynch: looking progressively more badass.

Io Interactive has seen fit to drop a new trailer for Kane & Lynch today, and it just looks better everytime I see it. Here at eat-sleep-game, there’s been some debate as to the potential for IO interactive’s follow-up to Hitman: Blood Money (which happens to be one of my favorite games of last year, actually), Kane & Lynch. As a big fan of the Hitman games, especially of the story driven direction they’ve been going, Kane & Lynch seems like a big, but natural step forward for them.

The story is interesting, and moderately complex, too complex to describe easily here, but I’ll try: Kane and Lynch are on their way to Death Row, when the bus they’re on is waylaid and the two of them are “rescued”. Kane is told that if he doesn’t go along with his new employer, they’ll kill his captive daughter. Lynch, on the other hand, is insane, and homicidally so, which means he’s doing the job for money and for fun. Make no mistake, they’re both bad guys, but they’re multifaceted, interesting bad people. So take that kind of narrative hook, and combine it with the aesthetic of films like Ronin and Heat, and you’ve got the makings of something that could be amazing. Or it could blow. Such is the danger of ambition.
In the meantime, they released a new trailer for the game that reminds me why I was so excited in the first place. I just hope that game doesn’t get buried in the holiday madness, as I fear it might. Check it out below.

Here’s the new trailer:

And here’s a couple of the older ones, just to get you up to speed:

Please, please don’t suck.
