Halo 3: $300 Million in Global sales in Week one…

October 4th, 2007 by Jayslacks

Do we get any thanks? Us? The gamers? Will Microsoft give us some props for camping out and drinking all that game fuel and staying up twenty-four hours straight shooting dudes in the head? We gave them all that money, won’t we get anything back? A high five? Anything? From Next-Gen…

Microsoft recently announced that the game brought in $170 million in day-one sales in its opening day in the US. Analyst Colin Sebastian with Lazard Capital Markets forecast unit shipments of 4.5 million through October.Microsoft also said in a press release that Xbox 360 hardware sales have nearly doubled on a worldwide basis since the release of Halo 3 on September 25

Man, that is a lot of money. What do you guys think? Does Halo 3 deserve all that love? Or will the hype fade once other games come out? Time will tell, like it usually does.

Dunno if this will make the 360 sell like mad crazy outside of sept-oct. I certainly wouldn’t have bought that legendary xbox they were selling. I didn’t think Halo 2 deserved the insanity, but I was a minority. Halo 3 seems to do everything done right from Halo 1 and 2. Now I just wish they made Halo DS and see what could be done with that.
