Assessment…merch?

How interested would you guys be if we started selling some merch? It’s been something we’ve thought about since the days of GFW Radio, but I’m curious if it’s actually worth an investment. If we made shirts, buttons, stickers and the like, would you be interested in it? Would someone out there actually wear an awesome Chuf It Out shirt?

Please post your thoughts in the comments.

I would rock that merch! Seriously, make some awesome underground gaming gear.

  2. Chris R says:

    Yo Anthony

if you guys have merch…i know id be down…more so if its a pin or a tshirt for sure…but some combo would be best

the same goes for the talking orange guys, so if you talking to them and theyre interested then pass it down the grapevine

(as long as the tshirts arent uber overpriced and looking like ass that is ;) )

  3. Big Pick Zel says:

I would like a shirt that shows someone riding a Kodiak. Maybe Yaddle.

  4. Sarah says:

OMG! That would be SO COOL! I would LOVE some ESG merch. A tshirt or three or four would be awesome!! (o^-’)b

  5. ediddy999 says:

I would make love to my wife in a Chuf it out shirt. Chuf it out anything would be amazing. My morning cup of coffee in a Chuf it out mug would be priceless.

  6. roberham says:

I’m game for a shirt with a clean, simple graphic design aesthetic.

I definitely dig (and would digg) the Rebel FM logo…also, never underestimate the power of a willing army of walking bilboards.

  7. Matt says:

If the shirt was bomb, why not?

  8. B1S0N says:

I get a shirt, you get money and free advertisement. Win win.

  9. Chaz says:

I would love to pick up a Chuf it out shirt. That would be sweet.

  10. javier (d0dg3rtr) says:

it would be cool. too bad im overseas :(

  11. Porter says:

If it looks halfway decent, yes. I’ve been trying to make an effort to support stuff you like you all in this way lately.

I need t-shirts anyway. Why not buy them from a place where the money goes to support some people I like?

Simple designs are the way to go. Just a logo and negative space. Too complicated or too “funny”, and I won’t end up wearing the shirt, so I’d rather just donate money.

But “Chuf it out” is simple and elegant enough. That works.

  12. Big Pick Zel says:

A photo of Chuf in a beret with the line VIVA LA REBELUCION

  13. Big Pick Zel says:

I’m sorry. That was corn ball.

  14. Daniel v2 says:

I would buy one as long as it had a little style to it.

  15. Dave says:

A t-shirt of the EGM background you have right now would look fantastic, though I doubt you can legally make that…

    I’d buy a Rebel FM t-shirt.

  16. Eric says:

I totally would wear whatever you sold! Don’t care what it is!

  17. I would love to buy some merchandise thought it has to be moderately acceptable clothes thought.

  18. Akira says:

    Chuf It Out? Fuck yeah.

  19. Bill says:

id buy a t shirt… why not? rebel fm, EGM, talking orange, ESG, they’d all be cool…

  20. Kyle says:

I would purchase a RebelFM or Chuff it out T-Shirt for maybe $15. If that makes me cheap then so be it.

  21. Josh says:

I agree with the keep it simple philosophy of t-shirt design. I’d say something with either the Rebel FM logo or a ESG logo.

  22. BrynoMite says:

I’m currently unemployed. If I were not, I would totally buy a “Chuf It Out” shirt. I may purchase other shirts of yours as well.

  23. cody says:

definitely would buy a shirt or two and maybe stickers. I definitely like yaddle riding a kodiak, chuf it out, i know you guys like zombies how about a zombie apocalypse world tour tshirt. rebel fm would be good to. any of those idea ill buy.

  24. G3NK1E says:

I would definitely buy merch from you guys.

  25. Sarah says:

    I agree:

Chuff It Out, Yaddle, and Zombies would all be great tshirt ideas.

  26. Bobby says:

I wouldn’t mind purchasing a t shirt or hoodie. I have hoodies from other podcast I listen to. (Diggnation and TRS)

  27. angryweasel says:

I would wear a classy zip-up hoodie or beanie hat with rebelFM, or any previously used catchphrase(chuf, shametarp, ect)

  28. Prophet says:

Merch would be great….maybe an EGM memorial design too, could be a good cash cow for you as well…..

  29. Freddy says:

Totally, i would rock the a Chuf it out shirt in a heart beat.

  30. Nathan says:

I would definitely wear some sort of shirt from you guys.

  31. Adam T says:

If I had the money handy, then yes, I’d buy as much as possible.

  32. Dave from Illinois says:

I dunno if it would be possible now, but you have no idea how much I want a Brodeo coffee mug.

  33. MacDork says:

I could go for a beanie or a tee, for sure. :D

  34. moe saint cool says:

As long as it looks good. Please don’t just make some dumb t-shirt. If you really put some time and thought into it, I’ll be into it.

    Best of luck Sir Chuffington.

Also, if you did some type of monthly contest where you let us rebels( your fans) design a shirt, and release the winner in a limited run.
    Just a thought

    - David

  35. D0ug18 says:

Yes, I would buy up what you are selling. It’s time to Chuff it out.

  36. HOODBOYZ says:

Tshirt sounds great, and a coffee mug would be priceless!

  37. Andre says:

Hellz ya man, I would totally buy some merch. My friends need to know to chuf it out when I don’t feel like talking.

  38. Michael says:

    I’d rock it..

  39. Dick Ward says:

Please! I wanted some GFW Radio merch badly. Just, you know, don’t make it suck. Think Valve shirts :)

  40. RetroBob says:

Yeah I would buy a decent t-shirt but only if it was sweet.

  41. Foe says:

Meh. I’d buy podcasts/vidcasts, but it’d have to be a pretty cool/funny shirt or whatever.

  42. overwrought says:

Id be down to rock the “chuff it out.”

  43. Wai says:

Oddly being from the UK having a shirt saying “Chuff it out” might not be a good idea since to chuff is to fart.

  44. Kholdstare says:

    Yes. Give me merchandise.

  45. matt p. says:

yes, get us some merchandise. maybe even some cheap rebel fm patches would be cool.

  46. John M. says:

I’d love a Rebel FM shirt.

  47. Dave A. says:

    YOUDOTHIS!!! YOUDOTHIS!!!

  48. topherisagopher says:

Hell yes I would! Something like…

“I Chuffed it out for another year…2008″.

    That would be awesome!

  49. Aegies says:

Well, maybe I have some things to draw this weekend after all. Hm.

Any thoughts on tees, manufacturer wise? Most of us are partial to AA shirts, even if Dov Charney is a sack of douche.

  50. Bryan S. says:

T-Shirts would definitly be cool, other merch…a maybe depending on how good it looks.

  51. Matt L. says:

    I’d be down with a t-shirt or sweatshirt/hoodie.

  52. pinkkis says:

I would so wear a Chuf shirt. Bring it!

  53. Maurice M says:

You’ve alway been associated with some great artists at EGM, so if you could bring that level to some affordable t-shirts I’m always down.

p.s. Emeryville in the house bitches!

  54. Larry says:

I will buy anything that proclaims itself to be a Shame Tarp.

  55. Nobbyworks says:

You’ll probably get a lot of people who say they’d buy merch but would ultimately balk at a design that doesn’t suit their tastes, and undoubtably tastes will vary wildly.

My suggestion: post a few designs in a poll and get feedback.

  56. Webnet says:

@Aegies, It seems like everybody on the web has some deal with Jinx. I know that the guys at Revision3 seem to swear by it.

  57. BlakeTaylor says:

I’d be down for a t-shirt for sure. Personally I’m not that into slogans on shirts, But I’d buy something with a cool design or logo. So that’s about 50 people so far. I know from my band days that you can get t-shirts printed and shipped and make money charging $15 per. Even with a run as small as 50. At least, you can here in GA. San Fran maybe not… hmmmm….

  58. Aegies says:

@Webnet Unfortunately, I have a problem with selling shirts that I wouldn’t wear. I’ve seen some Jinx shirts, and I didn’t like the feel of the fabric (god, I’m really digging myself a hole here). But I also pretty much stick to threadless and AA shirts completely in the tee department.

  59. Daniel says:

I probably wouldn’t buy any merchandise but I would pay to listen to you guys podcasting and vodcasting. Keep it up! GFW Radio was the best podcast I’ve ever listened to, all categories, and I listen to quite a lot of different ones.

  60. Jared says:

T-shirts would be legit. Stickers too, whether it be the Rebel FM logo or Chuf It Out, I would be down for that.

  61. Jason says:

Personally I think it’s a good idea and wouldn’t think twice about purchasing merchandise.

  62. Maiestas says:

I’d definitely buy something if you made some hot designs that I like(I’m thinkin t-shirts)

  63. Brock says:

All you guys need to do is ask for money and you shall recive.

And getting a shirt for that money would be nice.

  64. Jeff says:

It would entirely depend on the merch for me.

If it was good, then ya I’d buy it. But if the shirts were ugly as all hell, it doesn’t matter how much i want to support you guys(which is a lot) I’m not buying an ugly ass shirt.

  65. Wyatt says:

I’d buy some merch if it was decently priced, so not $20 for a t-shirt. Also, I would love a Rebel FM 360 faceplate.

  66. Seans says:

I’d buy a t-shirt or hoody if it had the right ironic slogan ;)

  67. Darius K. says:

Hell yes. Chuf it out tees and stickers for my rig.

  68. Big Pick Zel says:

@aegies Definitely go for the AA ones.

  69. mike says:

i would honestly say that in my case, it would be unlikely that I purchased anything.. at least in the immediate future (im poor). maybe if they had some really good designs.

  70. Ryan says:

Absolutely, just make sure to have balance of inside-jokes and standard shirts. Make sure that you make a simple “Eat-Sleep-Game.com” shirt for us who want to wear a not-to-inside advertisement for the site(s).

And yes, I would definitely buy a “Chuff it out” shirt.

  71. Marc Bollinger (aka 12kill4) says:

“If you build it, they will come.”

Just please ship international to Australia!

  72. jellyjammer says:

Interested?!! Sir i am currently broke, im not getting hours at work, go to school and have a gaming habit that needs a fix’en every now and then, but i would totally drop cash ( or credit) on some sweet swag. i bought a giant bomb shirt, and i couldn’t be happier, if i had a Chuf tee i would be ecstatic.

  73. Lorigga says:

Yup, “Chuff it out” would definitely make for a solid purchase. I just ask for reasonable prices to correspond with the tanking economy =)

  74. Naylor says:

Seems like most people want something simple. As far as t-shirts go, maybe slap a rebel FM logo on the front and some small print saying “Chuff it out” Below the neck on the back. I’d wear that.

  75. Mauricio says:

Get Yoji Shinkawa to draw up some bad ass caricatures of you guys. I’d buy it in a sec!

  76. Anthony Gornicki says:

I’m not so interested in branding, so the focus of the merch would have to be something else.

I’d buy official yearly archives of your podcasts burnt on DVD or something. That would be like a collector’s item that a lot of people would want, a piece of gaming history. If you want to know what the original buzz around game X was, get it from the source and listen to the archived podcast! If you feel like playing a certain game that was covered in a backlog then listen to the relevant episodes while playing the game!

You could get together with TalkingOrange and put together a special DVD and sell it. It might get pirated but fans would buy it. I would! If it’s successful, you can make more now and then and sell those too. Profits could help both of you!

You can put together a book with pictures you guys took and some blurbs about how you put together the podcast, some memorable moments, messages to the fans from podcast members, etc.

Still I would be cool with just giving you guys money when I can.

  77. Justin says:

Fuckin Rights! I would rock it out 5 times a week.

  78. Anthony Gornicki says:

BTW I’m definitely down with the “Chuf it out” shirt idea.

  79. malcontent says:

    I’d were a yaddle shirt.

  80. malcontent says:

    ^ I mean wear.

  81. Kevin says:

YES!!! Chuf it out shirt!!!! OMG That black and white image of the brodeo crew on a pair of boxers.

  82. raymond fernandes says:

If you came up with some really witty, but not to obvious that i’m huge dork shirt i would buy it.

  83. Sorras says:

if i can get it to the nederlands i am in :)

  84. mike. says:

a murdered out chufmoney shirt in like a early 90′s rap cover style would be cool…

but i don’t think its that much of an investment on your part if you use cafe press or something.

  85. sean says:

i would but a chuff it out shirt and a rebel fm shirt.

  86. Amatersu says:

I’d buy a sticker and maybe a shirt depending on pricing.

  87. Edwin says:

Hell yeah! I want the Chuff It Out! shirt now please. I’ll buy anything to support you guys.

  88. Jdubb says:

I would so rock your gear !!!!!!

  89. james says:

i’d be cool if you made a chuff it out sticker u should do it like using this thing
    http://obamiconme.pastemagazine.com/

  90. Sanchez Ichiban says:

    i would buy your merch.

  91. stupefaction says:

buttons and stickers: absolutely. Also if any of you guys need a drink after this whole ordeal, and are still in SF, come down to the knockout (at mission and valencia) on mondays and I’ll pour you a double. you make my door shifts livable.

  92. Ken says:

I’d be interested in a shirt. Like others have mentioned, the black EGM background with pink would be awesome on a black tee, though I don’t know if that’d be legally possible.
Maybe the rebel.fm logo on white. Hoodies.

  93. ZenGaijin says:

I’d wear a Chuff T-shirt and rock that shit proudly. I been wanting a Whiskey Nerd shirt for the longest.

But anything with your guys logo I’d probably get just to support you guys.

  94. orcus86 says:

As long as it doesnt fall apart in one week, hell yeah!

  95. Henchman24 says:

Hell yes I would rock that merch!

  96. Earl Greigh says:

I’ve been chuffing it out for awhile now. Some added t-shirt support would be solid.

  97. Devon says:

I’d definitely rock some merch. I mean, I hate to relive the past, but I’d definitely wear a fucking Brodeo shirt…and so would Jeff Green, I’m sure. :) Or the Chuf It Out shirt that Robert Ashley was babbling about on a podcast. I debated going to the T-shirt making store at West Edmonton Mall and getting CHUF IT OUT in big caps, like those FRANKIE SAYS RELAX shirts I’ve seen around.

  98. kevin ellis says:

hell yeah man thatd be awesome cuz ive allways wanted to buy some supporting you guys and hopefully now i can

  99. w00t! says:

I’d love some t-shirts stickers, maybe a beanie or a zip-up hoodie. Maybe you guys should try and come up with some designs and then post them and let the community vote on them to start off, that way you can start off slow and go with the most popular design to lessen the risk.

  100. Thomas Able says:

I’d love to have a Rebel FM coffee cup. Or those oval stickers that have three letters..
