Assessment…merch?

How interested would you guys be if we started selling some merch? It’s been something we’ve thought about since the days of GFW Radio, but I’m curious if it’s actually worth an investment. If we made shirts, buttons, stickers and the like, would you be interested in it? Would someone out there actually wear an awesome Chuf It Out shirt?

Please post your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Courtney says:

I’d buy a shirt for either RebelFM or eat-sleep-game!

  2. hiddengrounds says:

Chuf it out! and 97.5 The Brodeo are perfect stickers! I’m all for the merchandise.

  3. Russell says:

I don’t know if I’d wear anything super gaudy, but a low key T-shirt or something would be awesome. Rebel FM logo is fine, but just remember, whatever it is, I’m going to have to explain it to people ALL DAY. Might as well be cool. Oh, and keep the price low-ish, look at what 10-15 bucks will buy you at a high end T-shirt site like threadless, and then consider what you ought to charge. Did this sound negative? It wasn’t supposed to be. Hell yes I would buy a T-Shirt/button/sticker from you guys!

  4. Golden says:

A ESG/RFM Shame tarp?, sure sounds great.
Coffee cup would be great. Appropriate p&p to the UK is a must.
For the love of God do not do one of those pens that stip when you turn it up

  5. Ryan Sumo says:

I think I’d buy a shirt, depending on the cost. It’s a bit harder for me since I live in the Philippines so I have to deal with shipping and a tricky postal service, but that’s definitely one revenue stream you guys should consider. it won’t pay the rent but I’m sure there are services that put this stuff out where there’s no cost for you guys, like cafepress or someshit like that.

  6. Golden says:

Oh, what about a socks and pants (underwear to you Americans) combo.
Right foot=Eat, left foot=Sleep and across the ass of the pants=Game.
    Just an idea

  7. Janxus says:

I want a Chufmoney pillow case.

  8. adesolatenation says:

Needs to be stylish and under $20. I don’t have a job. :(

Great job, guys. You’re able to chuff it out!

  9. Pele says:

I’m with the consensus of “I’d wear any Rebel FM shirt provided it didn’t look like ass.”

  10. Jim says:

I will unless you do Cafepress or whatever. Cafepress shirts are low quality and shitty – if you do nice professional screenprinted shirts, I’d buy some – they’d be more expensive, but the quality bump would be worth it.

I want a 97.5 The Brodeo t-shirt so bad though

  11. Jim says:

And a Rebel FM shirt would be fucking cool too.

  12. Pinion413 (Chris) says:

I’m all for merch. Provided it doesn’t look like something you’d find at a fair or flea market, I’m down. :-D

  13. Nick says:

Yeah I’d definitely pick up some merchandise.
Though the international shipping would have to be reasonable, that’s often a deal-breaker on most sites.

  14. Tommy says:

YES. You make it I will buy it. So long as it doesn’t look stupid.

  15. Joe says:

Sure, it’d be great to help you guys out AS LONG AS you don’t charge $20 for t-shirts and $50 for hoodies on top of a ridiculous $20 shipping charge like Giant Bomb.

  16. Joshua T. says:

Oh! Make some stickers, so in Nerd Rage we can put Rebel FM on people’s doors, or in Starbucks…
And I would definitely wear a shirt that says
    Chuf it out
    or… uh…
The economy’s rough, but you gotta Chuf it out anyways

  17. Matt Pifer says:

The sooner you guys get something out there for purchase, the better. If you’re interested in accepting art contributions, let me know. I’d push a few layouts your way for free. You might want to check out zazzle.com as well.

  18. Falcomadol says:

Oh please, that question answers itself. If the shirt is totally awesome, then it will be worn, sir.

  19. norman says:

    a resounding yes

  20. TheEggplant says:

Definitely be interested. But time of year would be critical to actually being able to purchase.

  21. wrrza says:

merch is good as long as YOU dont over produce.

make limited designs and it’ll be more prone to selling. wait a few make a bunch of limited stuff again it’ll sell.

  22. Hey guys I know my community love you guys and would love to have some merch. Weither it is your merch you’ve picked up along the way or merch you guys get made I believe it will sell great. Start the sell!

  23. Gazimoff says:

Yeah, I’d probably go for a Rebel FM or an ESG one, depending on the design/logo. Have you got an addy for sending merch ideas to?

  24. rink says:

“chuf it out” specifically would be amazing.

  25. cpt_shake says:

i’d buy that shit fo sho

  26. I would buy a shirt say a Rebel FM shirt with the log and on the back a picture of Nick, Phillip, Arthur, and whoever else is on the podcast. Say $15 for the shirt and shipping and handling included? What about caps, beanies, and stickers, bummerstickers?

  27. CDRaff says:

    I too would buy merch.

  28. hawkinson says:

If it rocks, or if it vets my geek cred, I’ll buy (I still have my ST: Elite Force pin)

  29. Dastardly Do-Wrong says:

I would totally buy a t-shirt or pins or patches with “Chuf it out” on them. Or what about an “Honorary Hero of the Web” shirt or something. If you could work something out with Bill Mudron to get that fantastic EGM send-off pic he drew and made some merch out of that I’d probably get that too.

  30. hawkinson says:

Oh, and something for my wife would be good too. Something low cut.

  31. Dastardly Do-Wrong says:

I just thought of something else you could do: A shirt with a simple drawing of Ryan Scott on it and the caption “White women only!” written underneath it. Or perhaps the Ryan Scott pic could be done in the style of all those Che Guevara t-shirts you see everywhere; you know, basically a bunch of black shapes resembling a face.

  32. Kenny says:

    I would buy 10

  33. ThePumKinMan says:

Totally, I would get a Chuf it out shirt.

between 15$-18$ no more though, even 18 with shipping is pushing it for me, for a t-shirt.

  34. Nick says:

a shirt idea would be to take the egm memorial art, remove the writing and leave the 89-09 part so we can tell what the shirt represents

  35. Bobaganush22 says:

Chuf it out T-shirt. I don’t think there is anything I would want more!

  36. Draggeta says:

Definitely would buy one with chuff it out on it.

  37. Alex says:

Only if it had a really cool design. Otherwise I’d feel incredibly nerdy when describing what my t-shirt was. I would buy a zip-up hoody if you designed a good one.

  38. PatrickPeppers says:

I only started listening to the various 1up podcasts about 9 months ago. During that time I’ve heard the most insightful, hilarious, and downright fun video game discussions I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing with complete strangers who didn’t know who I was or what the hell I was talking about.
Seriously though, I didn’t think there were people out there who thought so much like I did about the industry, but still had things to say that taught me something new week after week. Even though I have never seen any of you guys (and gals) before, it feels like I know you as well as I know any of my closest friends and family.
I was heartbroken to learn that 1up had changed hands and that so many of the people I had come to regard as close (yet far away) friends weren’t going to be continuing on with what I’d come to love so much.
I was ecstatic to hear about RebelFM, Geekbox, and the upcoming Talking Orange video podcast. I would gladly support you guys with anything I could give (If you’re ever in Indianapolis and need a place to crash I’m game…I promise I won’t make a suit out of your skin or anything). If all it takes to keep these endeavors going is monetary support I’ll gladly donate straight up or buy some merchandise (I’ll rock it too).
This is the first time I’ve voiced my support inside one of your forums, but I’ve never stopped being a fan. Keep on with what you guys are doing and I’ll spread the word on my end. Good luck to you all.

  39. Tidus3000 says:

Aslong as there is international shipping, im up fo it :D come on, Chuf erm out!

  40. Commander4904 says:

Yes! I would buy a Rebel FM tshirt!

  41. The dude says:

Hell yeah. who would not want to look super awesome with a chuff it out shirt. or a rebelfm fan boy button.

  42. Cost says:

FUCK YEAH I WANT TO CHUF IT OUT

  43. Fidoto says:

I would love some eat. sleep. game. stuff

  44. Maze says:

I want a Rebel FM shirt. That and sheets of stickers so we could stick them everywhere.

  45. inccubuss says:

if you guys deliver to Finland, i’m in for anything you guys made. May it be RebelFM cups, tshirts, stickers to pimp out my MacBook Pro… just take your time to make some nice designs and i think that your walking billboard army will take over the world :P You guys deserve it, i can’t tell how many times you made my working day go faster while i was listening to 1UP podcasts so the least i can do is support you all in these dire times :) BTW, loved the 2nd episode and good luck to Shane!!!

  46. scott says:

Heck yes! I’d totally dig a “Chuff it Out” shirt, and a general “Eat. Sleep. Game.” shirt would rock hard as well.

  47. Jack says:

Hats, Hoodies, and T-shirts, yes. Stickers and buttons…maybe. But a Chuf it out shirt would be right up there with the one I just bought that says simply, “Chillax”

  48. Jonathan says:

I don’t know about “Chuf it out” but a “eat.sleep.game.” shirt would be awesome

  49. Justin says:

Hey Anthony, I just wanted to let you guys know that I have a friend that owns a printing press. He has done a lot of t’s for different video game companies. If you would lke some info and probably a great deal, let me know

  50. bigjon says:

a chuff it out hoody or shirt is definitely worth a purchase

  51. Wayne says:

You guys shoulda had merch at 1up.com. That is a good way to make money, especially if you set up preorders first to estimate demand (that way not too much merch is bought).

  52. hobojohns says:

Honestly, you can only count on 10% of the people who previously posted to follow through and punch in a credit card number. Everyone says merch is great, but most will back out if actually given the opportunity. If you do decide to proceed with merch, start out small and cheap. I would much rather see you invest in the content of the site and podcasts, then get stuck with a bunch of shirts and hoodies you can’t sell later. Merch is a good idea, just not right now.

  53. Tony says:

Hells yeah! My birthday’s coming and my wife needs some ideas.

  54. Peter says:

I’d get a chuff it out Tshirt.

  55. Josh says:

Yes…..Yes I would send you money

  56. Emporerwang says:

Make it a shirt of someone milking Yaddle and I would buy that!!!

  57. Dustin Perez says:

hell yes i’d through down for some official gear, but like a previous comment,
I WANT AUTOGRAPHS worked into the design.

I’m a fan of the journalists, they make this connection with the industry more personal, and the merchandise should reflect that.

  58. Robert says:

I would be willing to film an amateure porn while wearing a “Chuf it out.” shirt.

  59. Dustin Perez says:

oh, and i’m mostly interested in a hoody because it feels like a sturdier, more permanent, display of pride.

  60. Brian says:

I’d be up for a Chuff or Rebel FM shirt.

  61. Aitch says:

Bring the Merch on . In Chuff we trust.

  62. Aitch says:

Bring the merch on. In Chuff We trust.

  63. I’d go for an Evan Grant Mondesanto shirt any day.

  64. I’d rock a RebelFM/eat.sleep.game. Hat or T-shirt anyday.

  65. Aaron says:

Sounds sweet. If it isn’t obnoxious looking and either looks cool or funny then I’d like a shirt.

  66. Kyle says:

I’d be interested in some Rebel FM branded gear for the most part.

  67. mathias says:

as long as its a rad logo, fuck yeah.

  68. Pele says:

And this clearly isn’t the proper place for this request, but I would actually like an eat-sleep-game forum… I never really became that invested in the 1UP boards and I can’t get into NeoGAF for whatever weird email reason they have set up.

    plz?

  69. Latenightgamer says:

Oh hell ya, i want it all. rock that stuff every day and defiantly on casual friday at work, then i could tell if im among fans or not, plus it would be amazing advertising. i like the zombie apocalypse world tour shirt, with some bad ass drawings of ya’ll slaying the undead oh hell ya im excited already. can’t wait !!!!!! keep up the amazing work guys!!!

  70. kareem says:

I would buy that shit in a second.

ONE ISSUE: No .com. I can’t stand merch with overt branding. If I pay for a shirt, I shouldn’t be transformed into a walking billboard. Knowing the dedicated fan base here, I can imagine that it wouldn’t be too hard to find someone to cook up a tasteful logo.

  71. michael says:

if you’ll ship it to germany im in!

  72. Randy says:

    Anthony:

My little brothers Xbox Live name is Chuff Love. I think there is a shwag market for you guys.

  73. Andrew says:

Dude, my band is going on tour in March, I’ll buy your shirts and wear them on stage every night. GO FOR IT!!! :-D

  74. Kevin N says:

I would definitely pony up for stickers and a shirt if the shirt was done tastefully and not with a logo the size of the entire front of the shirt. I think a coffee mug might be another good merch idea to “spread the word in the corporate enviornment.” The homestarrunner.com site has some interesting merch if you need some inspiration.

  75. Larrio says:

I’d consider purhcasing a t-shirt, as long as it were organic cotton or hemp.

  76. Eli says:

I would buy some shit. ESPECIALLY a chufitout shirt or hoodie or something.

  77. Kevin N says:

There were other sayings on the show that were very gamer-centric as well. I remember something about “banana riders” in Team Fortress 2. “Chuf Love” was another catch phrase I remember as well. Anyhow, there’s a market. Go or it.

  78. Willard says:

Hell yes I would buy a shirt. Your logo is nice enough, and I am sure you could put out some classy shit.

  79. Sykoh says:

    Chuf it Out!!

Or ya know, the RebelFM logo, would definitely be a purchase.

A beanie and/or baseball cap, too, plz.

  80. Matt says:

I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt. I would buy a chuf it out shirt.

  81. Arnoldas says:

bah, sadly I never buy merch :( even though it would be AWSOME.
Nonetheless, it’s always floating around the bottom of my priority list when it comes to where my money needs to go.
Howevarz, if I had money set aside for merch (actually that’s not a bad idea, hmmm…) I would def buy some stuffs!(if the apparel ain’t all that, then some desk-wear fo sure)

  82. Chris Wilson says:

Hell yeah I would wear a chuf it out shirt.
or shirt with a picture of a beard on it and says “I survived Nick’s beard”

  83. Marcus says:

    3 Shirts I would BUY:

    1. REBEL FM: That ruskie logo is bad-ass

    2. CHUFF IT OUT: My friends wear a lot of shirts with completely random-ass catchphrases and logos

    3. “A+” : Who wouldn’t want to be lovingly reviewed by Rebel FM’s Nick Suttner?

  84. patron of metal says:

hell yeah i would rock the merch man, if you can get the logo for rebel fm on a t shirt or hoodie then im in. also the chuff shirt will be a buy also…..

  85. apoc_reg says:

im in the uk so probably wouldnt buy stuff… but if i was local totally would!

  86. GottiJr says:

I think Rebel FM shirts would be cool.

  87. Mike K says:

I would rock the shit out of a Rebel FM shirt. Make it understated and retro – Make it happen!!!

  88. Jonage says:

I want to donate some cash, but I would rather buy some merch. Or maybe I’m going to do both :)

  89. osakajack says:

Hi, I’m an overweight 38 year old male. And I’d like a yellow Chuff baby-tee a size too small. Thank you.

  90. PootraiN says:

I would defenetly where a chuf it out shirt.

  91. DJ Hicks says:

i will definitely buy some apparel if it isn’t outrageously priced like the 1up gear.

  92. doug r says:

+1 for a chuff it out shirt.

  93. Ron says:

    I very much would!

  94. Dan Barker says:

YES!!! But make the shipping cheep to the UK!

  95. DHJin says:

yo defo, but you gotta ship to australia….

and gotta make it like look awsome, not like cheezy ass shit usual game stuff is. the old 1up GEard sucked, not even mushrooms anywhere…

  96. Josh Wise says:

I will definitely pick up a “Chuff it out” shirt bro. NO question.

  97. Vincent says:

I would buy a coffee mug (never have enough of those) and a T-Shirt, no questions asked.

  98. Jzaf says:

How about the Rebel FM logo on the the back of the t shirt and on the front have drawings of the crew.

  99. sarge mat says:

I want my Chuff it out Tee put it that way. But I am in the UK so not if its going to cost a lot postage wise.
