Alright, as far as predictions go:
1)At GDC, Fumito Ueda is definitely gonna mention SOMETHING about Team Ico’s new game, but we won’t get more than a tease.
2)I’m fairly positive that Ninty’s gonna announce that new Zelda game that we’ve not heard a thing about yet and that YES it will include their recently revealed “Kind Code”.
3)Rare will officially announce Killer Instinct 3 for Xbox 360 and that it’s coming out this fall.

As far as predictions go:
1. the Ps3 will have a great year meaning great sales both from third party and first party sales.
2. We’ll see some IP’s from third party publishers go first party altogether, due to financial woes.
3. Atari, will make a fantastic come-back.
4. Robert Ashley, will get his own spot on NPR. Here’s to hoping.
5. The gaming industry won’t expand as it has over the last couple of year, mainly because everyone will own a DS or Wii already. It will still be huge though.
6. No one will be able to find DSi’s readily.
so yeah those are my, Prediction for 09.

Sony releases a $299 North American SKU to compete with the 360 Pro. Hopefully they revive the 60gb system.

Hey guys, I’m sure everybody has heard about sony’s market analyst predicting a $100 price drop in a few days, even though other’s at sony are denying it. If my memory serves me, Sony denied the last price drop days before it actually happened. That’s not my point. My point is this:
Why is everybody saying that the $400 price point for the PS3 is too expensive, yet the xbox 360 flew off the shelves on launch day at that same price?
I realize it’s urgent for sony to price their console to compete with the 199 and 299 priced 360 skus, but the fact is, $400 IS NOT too much to pay for a console, especially one with a nice Blu ray player in it.
That said, I hope sony drops the price, because then microsoft will counter and I can finally get a 360 and play those exclusives.
Thank goodness for competition!

Best to Phil’s old lady, hope she gets better. I just finished up the Cthulhu part 2 podcast, so I’m good to wait anyway. Your backlog podcast is my favorite podcast out there, by far. I love playing along and then listening to the podcast. It’s like a gamers club for 30 year olds who don’t have enough like minded 30 year old friends to do this sort of thing with. Please keep it up, it’s very entertaining. It actually makes a 12 hour game into a 16-17 game by adding the podcasts on to listen to.
Whatev’s. It is not that big of a deal hope your girlfriend is feeling better today. It is always nice to have some one around when you are sick.
I was disappointed of not having a nice podcast to listen to on my way to pathogen lab at like 8am this morning.
I got three predictions
1) Assassin’s Creed 2 will come out this Fall 2009. It’s been 2 years since Assassin’s Creed, and that game went on to sell what, like couple million copies? A sequel is a no brainer.
But my actual prediction is that unlike the first one, AC2 will be mindblowing. They had great game mechanics in the first game and a spectacular engine. This time, they’ll have had 2 years do create great missions and environments, whereas the first game seemed rushed.
2) Perfect Dark 2 to be released in Fall 2009. Microsoft needs a big shooter for the holiday season and Halo 3: Recon just doesn’t cut it.
3) “Metal Gear Solid 4: Insert Cool Sounding Complicated Word Here” is announced for release Q1 2010 for the Xbox 360. I hate to sound cliched but I think it’s going to finally happen.
Oh and I forgot this one.
Prediction #4
Capcom announces either or both of the following for the XBLA/PSN. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Power Stone (unless there are some legal complications, which I’m not aware of)
Capcom has a really strong 1st Half, but there will be some dry spots. They can make a quick buck in the 2nd half of the year by releasing one or both of these titles as XBLA/PSN games. Though they will most likely announce 1 or 2 new titles at E3 2009 for the Xbox 360/PS3 and probably one or two for the Wii.
I agree with Michael, you MUST open with a Tender Rondo duet…please.

Probably too late, but my random predictions…
1. Either Protoype or Infamous will disappoint. I’m guessing it will be Prototype. I think people will enjoy it for the first hour but then get bored of it.
2. Wanted will pull a Riddick. Wanted will get great reviews and be a great game
3. Uncharted 2 will be the best looking game of the year
4. Two big exclusives for Microsoft will be the new Mistwalker/Lionhead game. I think both will be announced at E3
5. PSP 2 at E3 2009
6. MAG and GOW3 will be next year
7. USA/EU will get a release date on FF13 at E3.
8. Team Ico game announced before July
9. The Wii will announce one hardcore game. When I say hardcore I mean one of the classic franchises.
