How about talking bout some of your all-time favorite bosses, or how you think bosses should be done? Also, talk about the shit endings we're being fed. After all these years and exponentially increasing power of consoles, and still games can never give us satisfying endings. Whatever happened to having cheeseburgers with the president?

What do you guys think of sites like N4G? Are sites like this good for journalists, or do they only propagate the quick information splurge that seems to be the predominant trend in today's tech-savy, information craving audiences?

While this is the fastest method, it only takes one zippering of your wang / scrotal sack when you're going commando before you're back to the classic pull down method.

Also, being the fastest is not always a bonus. I do the majority of my pissing at work, and the extra 10 seconds it takes for the pull down is 10 seconds away from my desk and soul emasculating job. Using cups of coffee consumed daily as an estimate for average bathroom visits, 3 in my case, this works out to a 1 minute urinal vacation daily, factoring in both pre and post lizard draining pants configuration.

What's it like buying your own games? Anthony complained about it a lot after losing his job - something that normal people who've been buying our games for years found very annoying. How do you guys go about prioritizing what games you do or don't buy now that you pay for games yourselves? Do you jump on new hot releases to be part of the discussion? Work through your backlog? Pick and choose a few games that really excite you personally?

Ahh the notion that Halo is some kind of epic poem really tickles me :)

Then a proud Elite warrior asked them:
"From where have you carried
these blue-lit grey guns,
these primitive trucks,
masked helmets, battle rifles?
I'm the Covenents' messenger and Arbiter.
Never have I seen braver strangers.
I expect you're here
to find adventure, not asylum."

The brave one answered him,
he of the Spartan tribe,
hard under his helmet:
"We are Satans' table companions.
Master Chief is my name.
I am pretty badass."

Adding to my earlier second question which was post 90, what was your gut reaction when hearing about 6 Days in Fallujiah, and do you think that will have an impact on media's perception on games if it does succeed in creating a respectful, while truthful environment of the battle.

My fave old school game was Electronic Arts "Racing Destruction Set" for Commodore 64. Yes, I'm quite the old fart now.

Anyway, wouldn't a remake of this for current gen consoles be the bomb. I'm a huge fan of selecting the gravity for the track you've created. It was a simple game that allowed for maximum replay value.

Damn, I really miss that game.

Also, this is not a topic for discussion but rather just a question I wanted to ask you guys.

How much time do publishers usually ask you to hold on an NDA? For example, if I know journalists checked out Bioshock 2 last week... when should I expect new media to come out about the game?

I figured it would be normally a week or so, but I wonder if it can be much longer than that.

I think it would be dope if you guys would have a conversation around the single-player experience as a whole. Too often now games are focusing on deathmatches when unnecessary (Resident Evil 5, Codemned 2) or making Co-Op a damn near necessity (Resident Evil 5). As a gamer who works full time, and goes to school, I can't always "meet-up" with my online friends to partake in clan matches, or play through levels of co-op. I often find that my best option is to try and sink some time into a story mode. What are you guys favorite single-player experiences of this generation (there are too many options from all generations). What stories sucked but get all the hype. How long is a decent single player experience (Is 30+ hours of Elder Scrolls too much, is 4-5 hours of Gears not enough?) What makes single-player experiences the most interesting (is it the story, constantly changing game mechanics...or letting you get used to the mechanics and then giving you the opportunity to take full advantage of them). What adjustments would you guys have made to single player experiences you've played through to make them better? What games used to give you a good single player experience, but have fallen off track during sequels?

These are all questions of personal opinion, since there are no definitive (sp?) answers to any of these questions.

I would like to hear a Mod section or segment.

Either games that have really fantastic mods
(i.e. Warcraft III's "Defense of the Ancients", Battlefield Mods, etc.) older games that might have some kick ass Mods to breathe new life into something we might already have on our harddrive, or upcoming Mods such as Mechwarrior Living Legends for Crysis, or anything else that looks cool.
I think this is an area of videogaming thats not covered in the mainstream press as much as it should be. This way, it would give us something to play without forking out any, or zero, cash as well provide a different experience for the games we already have.

Just a thought.

One topic that I think would be worth discussing is morality systems in video games. I wrote a blog entry over at Gamasutra that generated quite a bit of discussion about this topic, and it was awarded blog of the week by the Gamasutra staff. I raise two main points - one is that games with morality systems tend to actually only offer you one option - kill things - and then tells you there are nice and mean ways to do that. The other one is that the desire for "game balance" means these systems are often completely devoid of meaningful consequence, which is entirely necessary if morality is to mean anything. If you're interested in what I (and others) had to say, here's the link:

I wrote a blog entry over at Gamasutra that generated quite a bit of discussion about this topic, and it was awarded blog of the week by the Gamasutra staff. I raise two main points – one is that games with morality systems tend to actually only offer you one option – kill things – and then tells you there are nice and mean ways to do that. The other one is that the desire for “game balance” means these systems are often completely devoid of meaningful consequence, which is entirely necessary if morality is to mean anything. If you’re interested in what I (and others) had to say, here’s the link:

Do you think that the general gaming public is more cynical and pessimistic than ever? It seems most of the crowd is quick to jump on a "this game sucks" bandwagon long before the game is released. You can head to any gaming blog that enables comments to see what I'm talking about.
