Thanks, guys! Keep up the good work. Really enjoy the show.

  2. Kifftopher says:

Yay! I can’t play along but I love to listen to your voices and do unspeakable things… to enemies in borderlands… cause I listen while I play, what else?

  3. B Smith says:

I’ve always had a suspicion that after some of the guys at Bungie played Crimson skies, they added the dodge moves and flight mechanics from Crimson Skies to the banshee in the Halo series. I’m all but certain that I’m full of shit, but whenever I play Halo 3 and hop into a Banshee I get flashbacks of my glory days in Crimson Skies online.

    DRAKE ON A PLANE!

Well I dug out my xbox to play last night and got everything hooked up only to discover that my xbox disk tray won’t open. When I push the button the light just flashes and i can hear it trying to open but it won’t. Everything worked fine a few months ago. :(

Does anybody know if there is another way to open it, similar to using a thumb tack to push the tiny button on a computer disk drive? I looked but didn’t see anything.

  6. Ben Tiede says:

my xbox does the exact same thing except it doesnt close! i have to give it a little tap to get it to start closing. does anyone know how to help this guy?

  7. Melissa says:

    Mine does that too.

There should be a tiny hole beneath the disc tray. You can then use a paper clip to open it. I don’t know how to permanently fix it though. It will still stick on occasion. Hope this helps!

  8. Romaen says:

Following the apparent tradition of hardware malfunctions, my 360 bricked on my right as I got to the area after Sea Haven. I’m gonna have to sit this one out (and probably the next one too).

  9. gunsmoke says:

Awesome! I have been waiting for this ever since the announcement hit Twitter. Thanks again for an excellent, if overlooked, game for the Big Black Box.

My game is acting very strange. It is visually flawless, and has no nicks in the data side of the DVD. However, the game makes my Xbox buckle. I have to completely turn off the music to even play the damn thing. It seeks data on the disc seemingly much more than any other game out of the 129 others in my collection. It will occasionally lock up, and even if it doesn;t, the Xbox makes so much noise that it actually frightens me! Even San Andreas can’t compare to the disc activity. Anyone else notice this? BTW, I am playing on a Samsung drive-equipped original Xbox.

I am toughing it out, though, and hope I can finally finish this one. It has been taunting me from my shelf for FAR too long now.

    Much love all.

  10. Iceveiled says:

Thanks for the tip. Got my xbox to finally open and now it works by pressing the button again.

  11. SoulChicken says:

Big shout out to Sean talking a lot about stuff we haven’t got to yet that sounded like it would best be a surprise!

  12. kyrieee says:

You choose the crappier console version?

    Booo

  13. dlfretz says:

    Xbox check
    Crimson Skies check
I’ll catch up on the next Game Club yahoo!!

  14. darianlinx says:

Man, this one has been sitting on my shelf since it came out. Well almost. I think I’ve tried to start it 4 or 5 times but never got very far. Going back to it I’m actually fairly impressed with how it holds up. Runs really well on the 360 and controlling the planes is very smooth and easy. I just bought a copy of the original over ebay, so when that comes in I’ll have to see if it will suck me in as this one has.

  15. gunsmoke says:

I have never made it beyond Sea Haven before this playthrough. THanks for motivating me to finally complete this, and the several other games I have played along with you in Game Club, and allow me to experience the awesomeness that is Crimson Skies.

Admittedly, Sea Haven is a bit small and not very indicative of the game as a whole. The later levels open way up, and contain several more missions, choices, and places to explore. The story improves as well.

Again, a big fat thank you for continuing to release quality Game Club podcasts. With me not owning a current gen console, this is one of the few ways to really ‘connect’ with a current podcast, and I appreciate it.

    • Yep. Ryan was right in saying that things open up. So far, doing the missions in Arixo (even the ones where all you do is shoot down enemy planes) have been more fun and intense than most of Sea Haven. I can’t wait to get to the next “boss” fight, if the transforming zeppelin at the end of Sea Haven is any indication for what’s to come.

  16. RedBishop says:

I can’t play this one, but I’m ready for The Thing, so I’m looking forward to the next GC.
