I’m only downloading this because I’m going in with the assumption that you guys will say “PS Vita” in British accents. “The PS Veetah.”

  2. bbb says:

<3 for anthony for his comments on spec ops.
i'm pretty sure, you were a tiny little bit bothered with your comments on shooting russians and germans. because you are sensitive. i can't speak for the russians or all germans at my age, but i'm german and 26 years old. my grandfather fought in ww2 in russia, was an commanding officer, was shot, fled on his own feet from war captivity from russia to germany and told me stories about all this stuff, when i was really young. my grandmother (she was ~14 and her husband, which she married later on, was 13 years older than her) tells me her stories today, every time, i start a serious conversation with her. bombings, stuff, she and her/our family lost because of that, "League of German Girls"(best translation, i could find), british soldiers etc. and i'm always interested in these stories, from people who lived in these times, especially when it is about my own family.
i'm german and i have to be interested in "my history", because it was horrible and nobody here wants it to be repeated. except for a really tiny minority. but we are fighting it for sure…trust me ;) they're literally getting walled in in their own houses and every "nazi"-protest is opposed by 10 to 100 times as much people from "the other side". and german anonymous is also doing their best to fight these people. nobody likes them ^^
even with my family-history, i never had a problem, with shooting nazis in CoD, MoH or similar games, since wolfenstein 3d. i personaly know and knew german soldiers who fought in ww2 and i still feel better, playing on the us or even russian side, in a video game. my generation (and pretty much every german gamer, i suppose) has no problem, with fighting german nazis, in a ww2 game. my generation just doesn't identify at all with these soldiers…not at all. don't feel bad for shooting nazis in games…nobody does, even in germany ;) don't know, how i would feel, if i had to fight the "bundeswehr"(the modern german army) in a game, because i have a friend, who serves in afghanistan right now. i presume it wouldn't be that easy. or if i were russian, because you still have to fight russians in games like CoD.
I'd feel much worse, playing as a us-soldier, shooting other us-soldiers, than playing as a us-soldier, shooting nazis..perhaps even bundeswehr or other modern german soldiers (didn't happen, until now, so i don't really know). our history and your movies and tv-shows really fked up our patriotism ^^ i protested with half a million other germans in berlin against the iraq-war in 2003..i'm still totaly against all the US wars in the middle-east and stuff…but i'm more comfortable shooting german soldiers, as an us-soldier, than shooting us-soldiers as an us-soldier…we're fked up :)
    just shoot these nazis ;)

  3. Helen C says:

It’s funny, I started with male Shepard, and I had no problem with his voice acting. I feel like the “emotionless” criticism levelled at Mark Meer applied to Jennifer Hale instead. It can’t have been easy for them to deliver the bulk of the lines in a way that’s compatible with a paragon and a renegade character at the same time.

Also, I think there’s something about the gameplay in ME1 that I like better than in ME2, it’s crunchier somehow (with the exception of the shooting, which left something to be desired). I wouldn’t go so far as to say the first is a better game, but the flaws seem to matter less to me on repeat playthroughs.

    • Sean says:

Well of course, youve learned to just ignore them, just like I have. But that certainly doesnt excuse them.

    • CodyH says:

I’m the opposite, after playing through the first game a few times getting various characters ready to move onto the next game I can’t play it anymore.

  4. EdgeRiderPro says:

What game will Ryan describe in excruciating detail next week?

    • Old Dirty Baron says:

God I hope not. Listening to him mumble and fumble through these past couple of episodes has been grating. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t talk for an hour straight about the most retarded, pointless things, but hey.

  5. Gert says:

I liked the talk about the psychologic training of a soldier. Although i think you are incorrect about the targets.
They changed the targets from simple archery target to targets that have a human silhouette.
It increased the amount of soldiers actually trying to hit their target by a very large percentage.

Also, if a soldiers shoots an enemy who shoots first or is a real threat, should they feel bad about it? And what if they don’t? That doesn’t make them a psychopath, right?

  6. Harris says:

Talk about the Vita more. I feel as much attention it is getting from games media it is still not enough. I want to know what you guys think in FULL detail before I make an impulse buy.

  7. iceveiled says:

Somebody loves to hear himself talk…
