Note: Yep, it’s a review! We’re going to be moving toward more editorial content on the site very soon, and I figured I might as well kick it off. This “review”, such as it is, is for the single player campaign only, as, understandably, the real breadth of Bionic Commando’s multiplayer isn’t obvious yet. An update may or may not be forthcoming about that aspect of the game in the near future.
Let’s skip the foreplay. The big question for Bionic Commando (on Xbox 360 and PS3 this week) is whether or not it “works”. Arguably more than any other game this year, it’s been sold on a single overarching mechanic, grappling and swinging via a giant, extending Bionic arm. The short answer is yes, which is great, since the game hinges on it.
